Meet Heidi, our note‑taking assistant
Some of our practitioners use Heidi, a secure AI scribe, to help write up their notes from your appointment. It means less time typing, and more time focused on you.
On your intake form we ask whether you're happy for us to use it. Here's everything you need to know before you decide.
- It's your choice, and you can change your mind at any time.
- Your appointment is never recorded or stored as audio.
- Your information is stored in Australia, under Australian privacy law.
- Your practitioner checks every note. Heidi never makes decisions about your care.
How it works
Think of Heidi as a very good note-taker sitting quietly in the room.
-
1
You say yes (or no)
You'll be asked on your intake form. If you're unsure, leave it unticked and ask us at your appointment.
-
2
Heidi listens while you talk
During your consultation, Heidi turns the conversation into text as it happens, so your practitioner can look at you, not a keyboard. No audio recording is kept.
-
3
Your practitioner checks the notes
Heidi drafts a summary. Your practitioner reads it, corrects anything that needs it, and saves it to your secure patient file, just like any other clinical note.
Keeping your information safe
Your health information is personal. Here's how it's looked after.
No recordings kept
Your conversation is turned into text in real time. The audio itself is never stored.
Stored in Australia
Heidi keeps Australian patients' data on Australian servers, protected by Australian data protection laws.
Independently certified
Heidi follows Australian privacy law and is certified to international security standards (SOC 2 and ISO 27001), with strict controls on who can access your data.
Only what's needed
Heidi only collects what's needed to provide the service, and limits how your data is used, shared and kept.
It's always your choice
Saying no won't change the care you receive.
- Using Heidi is optional. If you'd rather not, your practitioner will take notes the usual way.
- You can withdraw your consent at any time. Just let your practitioner or our reception team know.
- Want to talk about something without Heidi? Ask your practitioner to pause it, any time during your session.
Common questions
Does Heidi decide anything about my treatment?
No. Heidi is a note-taking tool only. Your practitioner makes every clinical decision and is responsible for what goes in your notes.
Where do my notes end up?
Once your practitioner has checked and saved them, your notes go into your patient file in our secure practice management system, the same place all your records are kept.
Will I notice anything different in my appointment?
Not much. Your practitioner may have a laptop or phone nearby running Heidi. The main difference is they'll be typing less and talking with you more.
I said yes on my form. Can I change my answer?
Of course. Tell us at any time, in person, by phone or by email, and we'll update your file.
Where can I read more?
Heidi's own privacy policy and terms are available at heidihealth.com. You're also welcome to ask us anything.
